美国科学家发现：神话中的巨大海怪确实存在

（中央社台北11日电）吞噬鲸鱼甚至船只的是一只传奇 性的触须海怪。一位美国科学家最近宣称，他发现这种 神话中的怪物确曾存在。

英国「每日邮报」（Daily Mail）报导，麻州霍利 奥克山学院（Mount Holyoke College）古生物学教授 麦曼纳米（Mark McMenamin）说，从海中动物遗骸上的 痕迹，他发现可以证明一个古代、像公交车大小的章鱼种 （像神话中Kraken海怪）跟这些海洋动物的死亡有关。

麦曼纳米说，最长30公尺的Kraken海怪存在的证据 ，来自巨型海中爬虫动物鱼龙遗骸上的明显伤痕。伤痕 不是Kraken海怪咬断鱼龙颈项，就是使鱼龙溺毙所造成 的。

每日邮报报导，研究结果已在明尼阿波利斯（ Minneapolis）召开的美国地质学会（Geological Society of America）年会上提出。

这位古生物学教授在内华达州柏林鱼龙州立公园（ Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park）观察通俗秀尼鱼龙 （Shonisaurus popularis）种中9只鱼龙遗骸时，首次 浮现这个想法。

据报导，这些遗骸上的痕迹不只显示牠们并非死于 同一时间，麦曼纳米说，鱼龙骨头的排列形状还显示像 Kraken海怪这种类似章鱼的动物，使鱼龙溺毙或弄断其 颈项。
